Facebook PROFESSIONAL MODE won’t make you a millionaire. In fact, Facebook won’t pay you a dime because you switched to PROFESSIONAL MODE.
The mode is for Professionals like Graphics Designers, Web Designer, Engineers, Content Creators, etc that wish to gain more visibility through ads but wish to keep their main account; a thing you can do with a FACEBOOK PAGE.
Truth be told, you may end up spending more money on Facebook than earning a dime if you are in Nigeria. You may spend a lot on ads boosting your profile to drive engagement and gain leads or followers.
There are few to no difference between PROFESSIONAL MODE and PAGES. The new Facebook Page Experience share the same features with Professional Mode. It’s safe to say that where PROFESSIONAL MODE is to Creators and Pros, a PAGE is to Businesses.
Know that Facebook pays owners of any of the above account types for putting up content but only from SELECT COUNTRIES. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not among the listed countries; South Africa is, of course.
To rephrase the above “if you are from some few countries, Facebook will pay you a certain amount for your content if you have a professional account or page”. Please know that there are requirements you need to meet to be qualified.
If you meet those requirements, your followers can also send you STARS which you can convert to CASH.
Finally, all the FOLLOW I FOLLOW posts circulating here claiming that if you switch to PROFESSIONAL MODE & have 5k followers, you will get paid is nothing more than misleading. Please, disregard.
If you check closely, you will find out that due to our selfish nature, you’ll follow someone but the person won’t follow back.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section below. I’ll be happy to answer you.
Thanks and Stay Motivated 💪🏾
WILL FACEBOOK PAY YOU FOR SWITCHING TO PROFESSIONAL MODE?
HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD I POST A DAY?
Most of you starting out on Facebook usually wonder why your posts rarely get engagements. Is it because you don’t post enough posts per day to reach out to many people or because you post too much?
The reality is, in most cases why your posts don’t get much engagement is because you made too many posts per day and they are all struggling to show up to your audience at the same time.
This is quite true for most accounts with fewer than 10k followers. There’s an algorithm (a computer program) whose job is to assign your posts to your followers according to whether the posts will align with their interests or not. The way it works is quite complicated that I have to make a separate post to explain.
Nonetheless, when you have a few followers and too many posts a day, the algorithm will show one of your posts to some of them to see if it will interest them. If it does, it will show it to others and continue the circle. But what if it doesn’t interest them? That post wouldn’t get any serious engagement. It becomes toasts.
If like 2 or 3 of your posts don’t interest your followers, then the algorithm will simply assume that the remaining posts are uninteresting too just as the first ones. In the end, you’ll waste your time and energy shelling post after post without any reasonable results.
What you should know is that the algorithm only shows your posts to your followers first and only suggest for people outside your following when there’s a lot of engagement on your posts by your audience.
Truth be told, I’ve seen big accounts making a post a day and succeeding, I’ve also seen small accounts making 5 posts a day and still succeeding. Nonetheless, it all boils down to the value you offer and whether your audience will like your posts or not. There’s no single rule for all.
For a piece of humble advice though, if you have less than 10k followers and are running on Professional Mode but not a page, try to limit yourself to posting just 2 or 3 posts a day. That way the algorithm won’t simply condemn your posts because of just a few people who don’t like what you do. With fewer posts, the algorithm will focus and try to show to more of your audience instead of it juggling through a lot of posts.
If you have a lot of followers but less than 100k, try to limit your posts to less than 10 posts a day. Anything above 100k can posts as he or she likes. There will be too many followers to see your posts.
Finally, the most important thing to take note of is to ensure you offer value to your audience and also ensure that your audience is the best fit for your content. These are two important rules that you shouldn’t joke with at all costs. Not everybody is your target audience so ensure that you are making the right content for the right audience.

WHAT IS A FACEBOOK PAGE AND WHY YOU NEED ONE.
There are 3 types of Facebook account. If you don’t know this, read to the end. I hope I may be able to educate you on it.
The 3 Facebook accounts are as follows:
- PERSONAL account
- PROFESSIONAL account
- PAGE
I won’t go deep into details with the first 2 types of accounts in this post. I’ll make a separate post for them.
A personal account is the main account you need to access all META services including FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, MESSENGER, BUSINESS SUITE, etc. On Facebook, it is the account that all Facebookers need to send and receive friend requests and also message each other. You’ll also need it to open a page or switch to a PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNT. You switched to a PROFESSIONAL account by activating PROFESSIONAL MODE.
A PAGE is simply a Facebook account that you open for your business, organization, brand or even personality. It can be used to manage anything that you manage that isn’t personally connected to you, for example, your business or an organization.
It has capabilities that personal accounts don’t have like the ability to get followers who aren’t necessarily your friends but love to see your content. It also allows you to run ads and create a catalogue of your products or services.
You get access to an insight on how your page is doing through an analytics tool that shows you how many people viewed your posts and how many took actions on them. It simply offers you everything you need to manage and grow your business or organization on Facebook.
It doesn’t have much difference with PROFESSIONAL account. The main difference between the two is their purpose of use. Where Professional account is meant for Professionals, a Page is meant for Businesses and Organizations. I’ll explain further in a future post about PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNT.
SO, WHY DO YOU NEED A PAGE?
The following are what you should consider before you open a page:
- You are a business, open a page.
- You are an organization e.g. religious, political or social organizations, open a page.
- You are an educational institution, open a page.
- You are a professional that doesn’t want your friends and family to convert to followers, open a page. On the contrary, switch to Professional account.
- You want to run ads on Facebook and Instagram, open a page.
- You want to market a product or service, do it on your page or Professional Account.
These are some of the things you need to consider before opening a page. If you just want to use Facebook to interact with family and friends and meet new people, use your PERSONAL ACCOUNT.
Finally, you don’t have to switch to a Professional account or open a page if you think doing so will give you money. It won’t. It will just leave you with frustration. Heed my words and avoid disappointment.
Thanks for reading 🤗
Stay tuned for my next post on PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNT.
